MICHIGAN STEEL STRAPPING HISTORY: Michigan Steel Strapping has the infrastructure in-house, to control each phase of our products from design to shipping the product out the door. We do this to better service our customers and to ensure product quality.
1977 - Michigan Steel Strapping started
selling steel as a steel broker.
1979 - Michigan Steel Strapping began processing
steel including steel slitting and rolling.
1982 - Michigan Steel Strapping acquires a steel stamping
company specializing in automotive applications.
1986 - Michigan Steel Strapping enters the packaging business with
the manufacturing of banding seals and corner protectors.
1990 - Michigan Steel Strapping began
manufacturing steel strapping.
2000 - Michigan Steel Strapping sold the automotive end of our business to specialize in the packaging business.
2001 - Michigan Steel Strapping began concentrating on selling to packaging distributors. We manufacture regular duty strapping, banding seals and corner protectors for domestic and international distributors.
2004 - Michigan Steel Strapping began manufacturing
one high volume, regular duty, wire buckle in response
to requests from our customers.
2007 - Michigan Steel Strapping started manufacturing ultra heavy duty wire buckles in response to the growing cord strapping market. 2008 - MSS increased buckle capacity by 400% with new equipment and tooling.
2009 - MSS awarded "exclusive" manufacturing rights in the United States for new wire ladder buckles.
2010 - MSS will enter the year manufacturing 18 different wire buckles.
